Hundreds of mourners gathered on Cape Town's Grand Parade on Friday to grieve
for the former South African President Nelson Mandela.
Flowers and mementos were placed in front of City Hall, from where Mandela gave his now famous first speech after being released from prison in 1990.
Soleko Mokgatle, one of those visiting the Grand Parade on Friday, said she hoped that Mandela's legacy could be continued by the next generation.
"We can look forward to a time when our kids can live here and not be worried about their race and not be worried about their gender, and they can work anywhere they want to," she said.
