It
is really MI’s time to shine. He has been getting endorsement deals from
left, right and centre and the young man has been grinning from ear to
ear lately.
Recently, he bagged another one from the Lagos State government; he became the state government’s
ambassador for energy.
His job basically is to sensitise the
people about electricity and how to conserve it. On his instagram page,
he wrote, “Everything you need to know about energy saving and how to go
about it is set and for us to learn and it would be easy and fun, trust
the chairman,”
Shortly after his appointment, he
co-hosted an event with the governor of the state. Although the event
had to do with energy, some fans argued that it is an indication that
the rapper might be gradually delving into politics.
However, his publicist, Oma Areh, said
that she could not speak about the rapper’s political ambition as only
he can talk on such matters. She added that people were just reading
meanings to what he does, stating that MI is an ambassador because of
his wide reach.
“I know he is not using music as a
platform to go into politics but only MI can really talk on that. I
cannot talk for him but the reason he is mostly used as an ambassador is
because he has a wide audience and most of them are youths. He is also a
UN ambassador among others,” she said.
When Saturday Beats called MI for his comment, no one answered his phone. He has not replied the text message sent to him either.
But the chairman of Chocolate City, Audu Maikori, said the only politics MI knows is his music.
