A £10,000 reward for information to help track down an escaped child killer has been offered by police.
Convicted murderer Lerone Boye hasn’t been seen since he absconded
from a mental health unit in Hackney, east London, on October 16.
Boye, 27, was sentenced in December 2012 to 28 years in prison for
the murder of 17-year-old Kelvin Chibueze in Ilford in August 2011.
Police have issued a new photograph of Boye, who was last seen at the John Howard Centre in Homerton.
Detectives have described him as a black man, 5ft 10ins, of slim
build with a distinctive horseshoe scar on his right cheek and a gold
tooth in his upper row of teeth. He has short hair, a goatee beard and
was last seen wearing a blue sweatshirt with a grey vest and grey
jogging bottoms.
Officers say there is intelligence to suggest Boye could be in the
east London area and that he is known to have links to Barking, Newham
and Ilford.
If anyone sees Boye they are advised not to approach him but to call 999.
Alternatively, if anyone has any information on Boye’s whereabouts
they can also call police on 020 8358 0100 or Crimestoppers,
anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
